The causes of spinal cord injuries

According to statistics, around 1,000 new cases of spinal cord injuries occur in Spain each year. It is estimated that there are around 45,000 people with spinal cord injuries in Spain and that 80% of spinal cord injuries occur in men.

The most common causes of spinal cord injuries in Spain are traffic accidents and falls, followed by sports injuries and injuries related to violence. A spinal cord injury is a condition in which damage occurs to the spinal cord, which is the structure located in the center of the spine and is responsible for transmitting information between the brain and the rest of the body. Rehabilitation of spinal cord injuries
