Motor Imagery

Motor imagery or mental practice of movement is an increasingly used intervention in both healthy subjects and those with an injury or pathology.

It consists of imagining a movement or gesture to learn or improve its execution. It has been shown that imagining movements activates the same brain areas as when we are actually doing it. Imagine the potential this has!

That’s why we want to teach you this technique, so that during these days you can put it into practice and improve the aspect you need.

How to do it?

Find a quiet area at home, get comfortable, and close your eyes. Focus only on your breathing, how the air enters and leaves for a few minutes. You may start thinking at some point… Don’t fight the thoughts, let them pass, relax, take a deep breath, and regain control over your breathing; your mind must be blank.

Once you are able to clear your mind, it is time to start thinking about that area of the body or that movement you want to improve or activate.

Start with simple movements or actions and gradually focus on the details until you can imagine it without problems!

Now is your moment!
