Dry needling is a semi-invasive technique that uses acupuncture needles to treat myofascial pain caused by trigger points. DNHS® is a dry needling technique whose main objective is to reduce hypertonia and spasticity in patients who suffer from some injury to the central nervous system, and thus improve their functionality. Both techniques can be performed in adults and children.

DNHS® has been shown to produce similar effects to botulinum toxin infiltration, without the need to infiltrate.

DNHS® can help us with:

· Reduction of spasticity and hypertonia.

· Activation of muscles that are inhibited.

Electro stimulation:

Electrostimulation (EMS) consists of the application of electrical current, which produces muscle contractions similar to those produced by our brain, imitating the natural physiology of muscle contraction at the moment in which the motor nerve is stimulated. These currents can be modified according to the objective or effect that we are looking for:

Effects on pain, vascularization.

Effect on muscle tone.

Whose objectives may include:

Reduce pain.

Activate weak or inhibited muscles.

Help in processes such as swallowing by training the different muscles.

Improve ranges of motion and reduce spasticity.

Produce improvements in functionality.

Therapeutic laser:

It is a type of non-invasive, painless and non-thermal therapy. The low-intensity laser is a device that provides a narrow beam of monochromatic and coherent light in a visible, infrared or ultraviolet range of the electromagnetic radiation spectrum.

When a therapeutic laser is applied, low-intensity energy light is used that stimulates biomodulation, normalizing the altered region. This light is absorbed by the tissue and produces a biochemical interaction that increases ATP reserves, improving oxygen consumption and normalization of soft tissue. In short, it generates changes in cell metabolism.

Therapeutic effects of low-intensity laser therapy:

• Analgesia.

• Anti-inflammatory.

• Improvement of edemas.

• Circulatory.

According to the above, the laser is then indicated for inflammatory processes, post-operative treatments, wounds, healing, bone regeneration, cartilage deterioration, arthritic processes, traumas, neuralgias, paralysis and muscle alterations.
